Chess WorldsWORKING PROTOTYPE / 0.1

Before you take.

A tempting piece. One pause. A better decision.

For players around 850–1250 on Lichess. Practice checking replies, keeping defenses, and counting exchanges. Six short exercises; no clock pressure.

Your practice trail

These are practice signals, not a rating or proof of mastery. The black-side exercises mirror the white-side ones. Hints count as guided practice.

Why this tutor suggests an exercise

Explicit rules connect your answers to three skill objects. Iterative relaxation balances “practice,” “steady,” and “unknown” labels. It recommends an unseen exercise with more support for practice or uncertainty. Nothing is trained; strengths are not calibrated probabilities.

What this prototype does

Three authored mini-lessons, each in two orientations. Make a capture decision, predict the consequence, then replay a legally verified line. The tutor tests the stated immediate tactic, not every possible continuation or the best move in arbitrary positions. Positions are teaching constructions, not historical games.

No account, paid service, Stockfish, neural model, or network API is needed. Progress stays in this browser when storage is available. Repeating an exercise does not inflate the recorded first-attempt evidence. Clearing practice removes that record.
